Dr Simon Mercer, University Hospital Aintree

The November meeting was hosted by Immediate Past-President Dr Christine Bell as Dr Fazackerley raced back from fog bound Southampton, after attending a family function, to present Dr Mercer with his SpR application form. Dr Fazackerley emphasised that it was the quality of this document and his interview performance that got him a post in Mersey and not the fact that the Triservices would be paying for his entire salary. With only muted laughter, it would appear that most of the audience were convinced by this dubious explanation.
