The society was very fortunate to hear Prof. Hugh Hemmings give an excellent talk about how anaesthetics work, the subject matter being far more complicated and perhaps beyond the understanding of many in the audience. Clearly the many different types of synapses described were working far faster than normal trying to fathom the depths of this very insightful lecture!
Prof Hemmings is seen here with Prof David Lambert (Chair of the BJA Board), Prof Jennie Hunter and Dr Clare Howard (Immediate Past President representing Dr Ed Djabatey).
Prof Hemmings is seen here with daughter of Prof Cecil Gray, Bernadette Fahey, having been presented by her with the BJA T.Cecil Gray Medal.
Newly elected Life Vice-President of the Society, Dr Janice Fazackerley, is presented with flowers by Dr Howard and Prof Hunter.
